Stage 2 (length 12 km, ascent 260 m, descent 300 m) picks up where stage 1 left off in Adliswil and ends in Horgen on the shore of Lake Zürich.
-

Trail 84, the Zürichsee-Rundweg is a ten stage trail that starts in Bürkliplatz and makes a complete loop around lake Zürich (including the Obersee). I hope to do all ten stages, but for now I am starting with stage 1 – Bürkliplatz to Adliswil (length 9 km, ascent 130 m, descent 90 m).

We recently took a trip to Pilatus Kulm and we would hiked down back to Alpnachstad . The views are gorgeous but the trail is steep – 1,627 meter elevation change.

We spent one night in the hotel at the top of Mount Pilatus, a towering peak in eastern Switzerland over-looking Lake Lucerne. While there we hiked the Tomlishorn Wildflower Trail and went up to Esel Viewpoint.

My husband took the day off from work so we decided to head to Elm, a small resort in canton Glarus, to do some hiking and, of course to ride down the mountain on a mountain cart.

A hike (11 k) with everything I think a Swiss mountain hike should have – dramatic mountain peaks, alpine lakes, rolling meadows with grazing sheep and cows, and the sound of clinking cow bells.
