Every three years, Bad RagARTz hosts the Swiss Triennial of Sculpture, a large open-air sculpture festival, in Bad Ragaz, Vaduz, Liechtenstein and Altes Bad Pfäfers. In 2024, we took the opportunity to stroll around the town of Bad Ragaz to check out the festival’s many impressive, weird, and wonderful sculptures.

Stage 4 of the Alpine Panorama Trail (Route 3) is a 12 km long trail with 500 m ascent and 1000 m descent that goes from Schwägalp to Stein, SG. We also did two side stops – a trip up to the top of Säntis and a stop at the Säntis Cheese Factory.

While in the Jungfrau region, we took the train up to the highest train station in the world at the Jungfraujoch and we went on two short hikes – a loop hike from Grindlewald First to the Bachalpsee, and a point-to-point hike from Kleine Scheidegg to Alpiglen.

The Rosengart Collection Museum in Luzern is the private collection of art-dealer Siegfried Rosengart and his daughter Angela. The collection is mainly comprised of works by Pablo Picasso (with whom they had a personal relationship) and Paul Klee.

We did the library tour, vaulted cellar tour and the exhibition space, where we saw the original drawing of the Abbey grounds from 900. In the vaulted celler, we saw the Evangelium Longum, a manuscript from 894.

The Height Route at Flumserberg is a short (8 km) hike that winds its way down (461 descent) from the top of the Maschgenkamm gondola station to the top of the Chrüz chair lift. At Chrüz, we rode the super-fun Floomzer mountain coaster back to Tannenboden.

The ZBB Trail Suggestion #12 is one of the long trail suggestions found on the Zugerberg Bahn (ZBB) website. This 13 km trail has about 208m ascent and 550 m descent. It starts at Zugerberg, Bergstation and ends at the Baar train station.

In Vevey, we stopped by The Fork sculpture, visited Alimentarium, a museum about food, visited the Swiss Camera Museum, a museum all about cameras, and then took a partially lake-side walk back to Montreux.

In Montreux, we visited Château de Chillon, took a pleasant stroll along the lake shore and then visited Queen – The Studio Experience, an exhibit entirely dedicated to the band Queen and lead singer Freddy Mercury, at the Barrière casino.

This was my first time going to the Lindt Home of Chocolate, but I am very certain, it won’t be my last. I will definitely be recommending this fun, informative, and tasty tour to all of my guests.
