Biking the Mittelland Route – Stage 6 Ins to Yverdon
Stage 6 of the Mittelland Bike Route was 51 km and went from Ins to Yverdon. We also stopped at the Menhires at Clendy – pre-historic standing stones, erected more than 5000 years ago.

Biking the Mittelland Route – Stage 5 Solothurn to Ins
Stage 5 of the Mittelland Bike Route was 62 km and went from Solothurn to Ins. The most interesting point along the way was the Hagneck hydroelectric power plant.

Biking the Mittelland Route – Stage 4 Aarau to Solothurn
Stage 4 of the Mittelland Bike Route was 59 km and went from Aarau to Solothurn.

Hiking the Trans Swiss Trail – Stage 19 Stans to Seelisberg
Stage 19 of the Trans Swiss trail is 20 km long with 820 m ascent and 480 m descent and goes from Stans to Seelisberg. This stage includes a steep ascent through the Risleten Gorge past a really gorgeous waterfall.

Stage 3 of the Mittelland Bike Route was 64 km and went from Kloten to Aarau.

Biking the Mittelland Route – Stage 2 Wil (SG) to Kloten
Stage 2 of the Mittelland Bike Route was 51 km and went from Wil (SG) to Kloten.

Visiting the Abbey Library of St. Gall
We did the library tour, vaulted cellar tour and the exhibition space, where we saw the original drawing of the Abbey grounds from 900. In the vaulted celler, we saw the Evangelium Longum, a manuscript from 894.

Biking the Mittelland Route – Stage 1 Romanshorn to Wil (SG)
Stage 1 of the Mittelland Bike Route was 36 km and went from Romanshorn to Wil (SG).

Hiking at Flumserberg – The Height Route (Maschgenkamm to Chrüz) + Mountain Coaster
The Height Route at Flumserberg is a short (8 km) hike that winds its way down (461 descent) from the top of the Maschgenkamm gondola station to the top of the Chrüz chair lift. At Chrüz, we rode the super-fun Floomzer mountain coaster back to Tannenboden.

Hiking the Trans Swiss Trail – Stage 18 Flüeli-Ranft to Stans
Stage 18 of the Trans Swiss trail is 17 km long with 520 m ascent and 80 m descent and goes from Flüeli-Ranft to Stans. On this stage, I learned a lot about Nicholas von Flüe, the patron saint of Switzerland.

Hiking The Mark Twain Trail – Weggis to Rigi Kulm
The Mark Twain trail is an 11 km long theme trail with an ascent of 1361 m that takes you Weggis to the peak of Mount Rigi (Rigi Kulm). This path follows the trail taken by Mark Twain, humorously recounted in his book “A Tramp Abroad.”
