The International Concourse of Elegance (The ICE) in St. Moritz is your chance to see unbelievable expensive and/or unique cars driving around a snowy course on a frozen lake and a great way for non-skiers to enjoy the winter glitz and glamour of St Moritz. Held every year during the peak of winter (the lake has to be frozen over after all), in 2026, it was on January 30 and 31. This was our first year attending this event and we had a pretty great time!
Detail Summary
| Where: | The International Concourse of Elegance (The ICE) St. Moritz, Switzerland Canton Graubunden |
| Train/Bus: | Zürich HB -> St. Moritz- 3 hr 20 min From the train station, it is a short walk down to the event located on the frozen lake. |
| What: | The International Concourse of Elegance (The ICE) Walk around the car displays and watch the cars drive the concourse. |
| Cost 2026: | This is a two day event – Tickets start at 120 CHF for one day. Prices go up from there as there are add-ons available like access to the drivers’ lounge, hotel packages, private jet arrival etc. |
| Notes: | Only held when weather conditions permit. We tried to go in 2024 but the event was cancelled due to heavy snow (our tickets were refunded.) Overnight accommodation St Moritz is a bit too far for a day trip. Also, hotels in St. Moritz in winter book out quickly. And even if you can find a place, it is likely to be absurdly expensive. For those reasons, we stayed at a hotel in Pontresina, about 25 minutes by public transport from St. Moritz and I think this was a good compromise. |
The Event
If you aren’t a car enthusiast (like me) this is still a fun event to attend as it is a great way to experience the glamor of St. Moritz in winter. The mountains and the frozen lake are gorgeous, the fashion trends are on display (2026 was all about moon boots and faux fur coats with a fur trimmed knit hat), and there is champagne on offer.

Now, if you are a car enthusiast (like my son), this is an amazing event to attend as there are some really incredible cars on display. Seeing the cars up close in the parked display was interesting. However, the real excitement was watching these special cars out on the icy course! (A big thank you to my younger son for the better car pictures.)

And if that weren’t enough, there was also an airshow by Patrouille Suisse!

This is a two-day event but we only went the first day. The first day is less crowded and pretty much a dress rehearsal for the bigger show the second day. If we go again, we’ll try to go the second day to see if the crowds are worth braving for the full show.
